2 Thessalonians 2:2-4

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

God told us that there was going to be a time when the people of this earth would fall away from the truth. This has happened already. When the angel came to Joseph Smith and restored the true gospel back on earth this was completed. Up to that point and time, the truth was lost to mankind. Now with the messenger coming back we are able keep the truth alive. Will you follow the truth?

Mosiah2:41

And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.

If we have faith in God and keep his commandments we will be blessed in all things. We will always have what we need when we need it. But, most importantly, if we can stay true to the end of this earth or our time on it we will be received into heaven and we will dwell with God forever. This is the key that we should work for, not the wealth on earth, but the wealth of heaven.

2 Peter 3:10

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

We should prepare ourselves for Christ’s coming, for we know now when it will come. There are several popular theories out now about the time frame of the end of the earth. And that is just what they are, theories. Jesus said that only the Father in heaven knew the time of his second coming. Knowing this we need to prepare ourselves today. For we never know when the time will come and we meet Christ.

Mark 13:13

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Things will become difficult in our lives. There will be many people who believe in the word of God that will be persecuted for that belief. There will be some that will stray away from God. This is bad and we cannot do this. We have to stay firm in our beliefs of Christ and keep following his commandments. It is a long road, but the home.

Philippians 2:2-3

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Love is the building block that makes God plan possible. Without love it cannot work. We should also apply this to our daily lives as well. If we do all things in love, just think how much ours, and the people around us, lives will be better.

Tonight I went to the play Spamalot. I know that Monty Python is not scripture or even religious, but there was a great song and over them that I think is important for us to remember. “You should always look at the bright side of life.” Sometimes things are dark and dreary, but if we are able to stay positive and always look for the blessing in our life, we will be much happier. Looking at the bright side also helps us through the dark parts. No matter how dark it become, God always gives us enough light to see where we are going.

Message 88:15

Mankind shall live by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God, the very eternal Christ the Lord and Maker of all. He cometh down with power in his word.

We cannot change what God will judge us against. I encourage you to look at God’s words and see if you are following them. We cannot make up our own and expect him to use them. Read, study and pray. His words and meaning will come to you though the spirit.

John 8:34

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

Don’t be a servant of sin, be a servant of God full of love.

Message 61:4

Fear not what man may say of you. Those that have gone astray are led by the evil one. Fear not, nor fret not, for some will repent. Thy will see their error and yet the faithful shall be blessed. Come all the way for the Lord wants a holy people whose hearts are just and righteous before him.

The Devil is an adversary that knows no ends. He will try to trick and fool everyone up to the last day. Let us strive to not be tricked and pray for the ones who have. There is still time for them to find the truth. God will help us along the way and if we fall, he will always take us back.

Mosiah 24:12-16

And it came to pass that Alma and his people did not raise their voices to the Lord their God, but did pour out their hearts to him; and he did know the thoughts of their hearts. And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort, for I know of the covenant which ye have made unto me; and I will covenant with my people and deliver them out of bondage. And I will also ease the burdens which is put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions. And now it came to pass that the burdens which was laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord. And it came to pass that so great was their faith and their patience that the voice of the Lord came unto them again, saying: Be of good comfort, for on the morrow I will deliver thee out of bondage.

When we are put in situations that push our bodies and minds to the limit, it is refreshing to know that God will give us the strength to overcome. This can include daily activities to lifelong battles. If we trust in God he will give us the strength to accomplish anything.

John 8:12

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Christ makes everything better. No matter where we are or what situation that we are in, if we follow Christ, we will be better off than if we don’t. Each one of us might have difficult times in our lives, but Christ will never leave us and in the end we forever be happy with him.

John 8:1-11

Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them,  He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

Let us not judge others. We cannot stand here say that this sin is greater than that sin, or that that person is going to hell no matter what. We all have sins our lives that we comment. If Christ is so easy to forget of our sins, shouldn’t we be the same way. Let us not dwell in past actions, but look ahead to what needs to be accomplished.

Colossians 1:14-18

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Christ is the reason for our salvation. He is the beginning and the end. He is the one that will give us grace, the one that will show us mercy. He is the one that is in charge of his church. He is the head and the corner stone. Without Christ and his gospel, there would be no salvation. Let us follow his plan.

Message 60:9

The harvest is on. The Lord has spoken and long plead that mankind will obey and fully set their hearts to do his will, for the sheaves are ungathered. The wheat and the tares have grown together. Now the cleansing shall be among men. Be humble that your lives may be full of the love of God for he will deliver.

Good and evil have mixed in this world since the beginning. It time for the harvest where God will remove the evil from around the good. Both good people and evil people will have to go though the cleaning, but only the good ones will make it to haven. No one is immune from the pain of the cleansing.  So prepare yourself and make sure the side that you are on so that you will end up in heaven with Christ.

James 1:19-20

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

Let us not be quick to judge or act when we are persecuted. We should take our time and let God help us in dealing with a situation. Wither that is with another person or our daily lives. There have many different people who have made a situation worse by acting or speaking out of turn and without thinking. Let us now be one of those people.

Message 60:6

But fear not men, nor what they may say of this work, for in their hearts is selfishness and hate. They are carnally minded and cannot see the Lord’s hand move, but seek their own glory and not the glory of the Lord.

Let us not worry about others when we live our lives and work for God. Let us ware God on outside and let everyone know it. God will not forsake us. Others may say bad things about and to us because of our beliefs, but we cannot allow that to influence us in our work for the Lord. Stay strong in the Lord and reach out to him and other believers for your strength.
