Message 97:3-4

The authority is given that this work move on and salvation be preached in and through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, his resurrection and eternal living: his coming again to reign with mankind. Know you this, the way is prepared that mankind may walk therein and be saved; will they hear it?

This is the greatest question that the church faces today. Will the people hear the plan of God the way that he set it up? Will follow his instructions? Will they accept it from those having the authority to implement it? There will multitudes that will accept it and be saved, will you?

Matthew 24:36

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Christ is talking about the second coming in the verse, but it also applies to your life and death. For our death seals our fate just like the second coming does. Today I was walking in the ruins of Pompeii were an entire town was buried alive in a matter of minutes. It was 87 AD.  Those poor Roman’s had several temples in town all built to worship different gods. They never had the opportunity to hear about Christ and the salvation that he brings before their quick death. Will you listed to that salvation and follow his gospel incase that happens to you?

Here are today’s files.

Alma 25:2-5

And now, I ask, what great blessings hath he bestowed upon us? Can ye tell? Behold, I answer for you; for our brethren, the Lamanites, were in darkness, yea, even in the darkest abyss, but behold, how many of them are brought to behold the marvelous light of God! And this is the blessing which hath been bestowed upon us, that we have been made instruments in the hands of God to bring about this great work. Behold, thousands of them do rejoice, and have been brought into the fold of God. Behold, the field was ripe, and blessed are ye, for ye did thrust in the sickle, and did reap with your mights, yea, all the day long did ye labor; and behold the number of your sheaves! And they shall be gathered into the garners, that they are not wasted.

Let us be the tools of God. There needs to be a great work done and someone has to do it. Are you going to prepare yourself to be the tool that God uses for the harvest? We have the instructions located in The Bible, The Record of the Nephites, an The Word of the Lord. We you follow them?

Message 73:1-4

“Write the message I will give you. Take heed the words I speak, for I speak the Lord’s words and will. The Lord your God has sent me in the past and I will yet come in the future. I come now with a message. I am the Messenger of the Lord, the forerunner of the Christ that will come for his own. All those that love his appearing shall find rest and peace with him. I am John the Baptist, the Elias, which was for to come. I come at the Lord’s appointing. I am the Branch; he that shall prune, refine and purify all that may dwell in the presence of the Lord and King of kings. I bring peace like a river and the flowing stream of joy and life to all that heed and obey. I come that the plan might be fulfilled and great peace established.

Here the messenger does a great job of telling us what his mission is and where he comes from. John is here to tell us the words of God. These are words of encouragement and instruction. They tell us what we need to do and give us the assurance to do it. Let us follow these instructions and apply them to our daily lives.

Message 25:7

There are those that doubt the message, and are discouraged, but if they will keep the commandments of the Lord, their reward is sure. There are those that are filled with traditions of men, and are deprived of many blessings. There are those that are a law unto themselves, they have no part in this work, for the Lord will not accept of them and their works.

To fully receive the blessing of the Lord we need to follow only his commandments. We cannot pick a chose which ones we want to follow. We have to believe all the words of God. This includes the Bible, the Word of the Lord, and the Record of the Nephites. Will you believe and follow the truth or will you be left in darkness?

Mark 12:13-17

And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words. And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not? Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it. And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar’s. And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him.

Let us not worry about the things of this world. If we follow God’s commandments we will always have enough. I am saying that we should all quite our jobs and only do the Lords work, but we should not make riches are priority.  We need to follow the rules of the land, but not let them become our focus.

1st Nephi 19:7

For the things which some men esteem to be of great worth, both to the body and soul, others set at naught and trample under their feet. Yea, even the very God of Israel do men trample under their feet; I say, trample under their feet but I would speak in other words—they do set him at naught, and hearken not to the voice of his counsels.

We should strive to be good followers of God, not good followers of positions. We are taught by society that things will make us happy. This is not the case. Only God can make us truly happy. Don’t tarnish God for the sake of stuff that is empty and that you cannot take with you when you die.

1 Timothy 4:1-5

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Let us not get caught up in the ideas of man. We were warned that there will be people who try to create their own rules about how to follow God. We cannot follow these man made ideas.  If we only follow the words of God we will be able to secure our place in heaven. Will you follow the truth or someone else’s ideas?

Message 72:4

I bring glad tidings to the faithful and those that love truth. I speak the truth. I bring light to the blind in the light of time.

John’s message is one for hope and love. He is a direct link from God to us. Let all see the truth that he brings.

Message 98:5

I come as the Messenger of the Lord. The Lord has been and will be with his people by his Spirit, and his peace shall long linger with the faithful until they become the jewels of God, called, chosen and faithful.

God will never leave us. If we stay faithful to the Lord he will make sure that we are with him in the end. This is a great promise that we rely on.

Galatians 4:4-7

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Christ was sent by God to give us an away to be closer to God. God also sent his spirit so that we can have him in our hearts all the time. Let us be thankful for the gifts that God has sent us.

Jacob 3:2

O all ye that are pure in heart, lift up your heads and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon his love; for ye may, if your minds are firm, forever.

God will never leave us. Let us be reassured that he will love us forever. He will pour out his blessing to us if we only just love him in return.

Romans 2:1-11

Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God? Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God.

God is the only one that can judge us. If we judge other people we are condemning ourselves. God will judge all people, it does not matter who you are or what you did in your life. He will treat all people the same and measure them against the same rules.

Message 71:3

Fear not, for the Lord is mindful of his people. The Church shall see his hand and his power. Heed not that which does not calm the soul—it is of the evil and seeks to destroy. Be not moved in emotion, for Satan takes hold of mankind and entices evil that they may gain prominency—and speaks in confusion and untruths.

The lord is looking out for his people. If we sit back and watch the events of the world we will be able to see the hand of God in control. We should look to his words for both strength and hope.

Message 34:3

Hearken, hearken: this is a day of haste! Will my servants do my bidding? Lo I have waited, yet many are slow to heed, while many there be that have a desire to put on the whole armor of Christ, saith the Master of men. Take to them the message, for Christ’s coming is near. Preach and teach the written words and my Spirit will be with you as in the days of yore, for my gospel must be taken to all nations, for a mighty shaking will come, then an awakening, and many that hear will obey.

Will you hear the warning? Will you follow his instructions? Will you be ready for the end? Christ will return and his plan is set in motion. Will you be a part of it or will you outside looking in?

Matthew 7:24-29

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

The guy that built his house on the sand probably thought it was going to be strong enough to last. But what happens though is that appearances can be deceiving. Only Christ is strong enough to stand on in the times of destruction. If we try to build our house on something other than the true rock, it will come tumbling down.
