Alma 40:9-14
Therefore, there is a time appointed unto men that they shall rise from the dead; and there is a space between the time of death and the resurrection. And now, concerning this space of time, what becometh of the souls of men is the thing which I have inquired
diligently of the Lord to know; and this is the thing of which I do know. And when the time cometh when all shall rise, then shall they know that God knoweth all the times which are appointed unto man. Now, concerning the state of the soul between death and the resurrection—Behold, it hath been made known unto me by an angel, that the spirits of all men, as soon as they are departed from this mortal body, yea, the spirits of all men, whether they be good or evil, are taken home to that God who gave them life. And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of those which are righteous are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles, and from all care, and sorrow, etc. And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of the wicked, yea, which are evil—for behold, they have no part nor portion of the Spirit of the Lord; for behold, they chose evil works rather than good; therefore the spirit of the devil did enter into them, and take possession of their house—and these shall be cast out into outer darkness; there shall be weeping, and wailing, and gnashing of teeth, and this because of their own iniquity, being led captive by the will of the devil. Now this is the state of the souls of the wicked, yea, in darkness, and a state of awful, fearful looking for of the fiery indignation of the wrath of God upon them; thus they remain in this state, as well as the righteous in paradise, until the time of their resurrection.
One our time here on earth is over our fate is sealed. We either wait for our resurrection in paradise, or we wait in a state of pain. Only our actions here in this life will determine what happens to us in the next. I know where I want to go.

Romans 16:17-18
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
Here we are warned again about people who don’t have the Lord’s will in their heart. They come and talk a big game about how they Love God and want to follow his teachings, but their mission is one of hate and evil.

Message 103:11
Let this voice of the Lord be heard. Let the translations continue; even to Jew and Gentiles, bond and free, the dispersed and outcast, to Israel, that all may have a chance to hear the warning words.
This message has to go to the entire world. It does not matter who, what or where people are, they should hear about Christ. Many people will come to see the truth, but many more will not. We have to give them that opportunity to make their own choice. Which one will you make?

Revelation 22:12-13
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Each one of us will be judged on our own actions. This judgment will happen by God who watched it all happen. We will not be able to talk our way out of this, but stand and face what will come, wither that be good or bad.

Message 46:6
I come to give instructions. I come from the presence of the Lord. The words I speak are his words; the message I bring is his message for mankind. Will they heed it? Lo, he has waited long, yet many are slow to obey. Many are true and will yet be true. Many will fall by the way because they have not prepared for that which is to come, for great is the work that shall be done and the Lord will direct in his way all those that will heed his voice. He will provide and point the way.
John comes from the Lord’s presence. He does not come on his own accord. We need to take the words that he brings and follow them closely. Wither or not we listen is up to us, but if we don’t the results will not be pleasant. The directions are clear and direct. Our actions are the only variable.

Message 74:2-3
Behold, this is a day when the Lord has established his Church among men, to bring salvation to the earth in its fullness, and prepare a bride, the Lamb’s wife; and power and authority is given that it shall be done. Likewise, a day wherein Satan has great power and seeks to destroy all he can of the good, but he shall fail in the end. He has swayed men for this long time to follow traditions of men and not the way of God; having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof. They turned from the former commandment and remembered it not, until now, the faithful are holding to the truth, even the Record of the Nephites and all the Lord’s words wherein there is but one Lord, one God, one salvation, one plan of redemption and a place in the hereafter for the faithful with God, and for those that doubt and are evil, captured by Satan, absorbed in his ways, shall remain so till the resurrections shall be, where the judgments are spread. It shall be man’s own ways while here that decides his decree. Woe to the doubtful, the wicked, the heedless, and those that plan to destroy.
The days are here where Satan has pulled away many from God. It can be very hard to step away from the comfortable traditions that have been created over the last 2000 years. Satan has done this on purpose. He wants it to be hard to leave behind the false teachings. There is only one truth and one way to salvation. That is through Christ Jesus and his gospel that can be found the written word.

Mosiah 4:9-10
Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he hath all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend. And again, believe that ye must repent of your sins and forsake them, and humble yourselves before God; and ask in sincerity of heart that he would forgive you; and now, if you believe all these things see that ye do them.
God is there, he does exist. There is more to this life and the world around us that we can ever be understood by humans. The way to make it out of this world alive is to believe in our Lord and follow his commandments. This requires us to repent of our sins and to be baptized into Christ’s church. Will you follow the instructions.

Message 64: 5
There are those that seek to prophesy in the Lord’s name, and in vain they do speak their own words for they know not his Spirit nor his power, for God speaketh not to blaspheme. Fear them not.
When someone comes and tells you that they have a prophesy from the Lord, the first thing you have to do it check it against the word of God. If it does match the word of God then it is not from God. Also the spirit will help us decide if it is true or not. All true prophesies from God will have the spirit confirm them within our hearts.

Colossians 3-6
We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth
The truth of the gospel is a very powerful thing. It allows us to be able to understand and receive the grace that comes from our Lord. It allows us to bring froth good fruit in our actions. Will you let the truth help you in your life?

Message 104:31
Some have sought to be great in the work of the Lord and have stood in the way. Leave the bitterness depart—come together in peace. The directions will come from the Lord.
If we go into the church thinking that we are going to be great for the Lord and that we will do amazing things all we do is become a hindrance to the ones that follow God’s plan. Being humble is an important part of working for the Lord. Without that we cannot be successful.

Message 108:17-18
See that all come to the Church’s teaching; all preaching the same things. The work is set in pace, the doctrine and program is given; follow through.
The gospel is out there. There is nothing new to add that has not already been said. We need to take Christ’s gospel and teach it in its fullness to the world. We cannot change the gospel to meet our personal wishes of desires. It is now our turn to serve God, will you step up to the challenge?

Helaman 11-13
Now this great loss of the Nephites, and the great slaughter which was among them, would not have happened had it not been for their wickedness and their abomination which was among them; yea, and it was among those also which professed to belong to the church of God. And it was because of the pride of their hearts, because of their exceeding riches, yea, it was because of their oppression to the poor, withholding their food from the hungry, withholding their clothing from the naked, and smiting their humble brethren upon the cheek, making a mock of that which was sacred, denying the spirit of prophecy and of revelation, murdering, plundering, lying, stealing, committing adultery, raising up in great contentions, and deserting away into the land of Nephi, among the Lamanites— And because of this their great wickedness, and their boastings in their own strength, they were left in their own strength; therefore they did not prosper, but were afflicted and smitten, and driven before the Lamanites, until they had lost possession of almost all their lands.
God allows us to reap the fruits of our labor. If we fall away from Christ’s teachings we can expect to fall from him graces. This fall does not happen overnight, but it does come with a heavy price. Are you going to be like Nephites and fall away from Christ and his blessing or are you going to stay in his graces?

Message 60:9
The harvest is on. The Lord has spoken and long plead that mankind will obey and fully set their hearts to do his will, for the sheaves are ungathered. The wheat and the tares have grown together. Now the cleansing shall be among men. Be humble that your lives may be full of the love of God for he will deliver.
Now is the time of the cleansing. God is separating the good fruit from the bad. It will be hard to watch as some of the people who we are close to end up not being with the Lord, but it is something that hast to happen. If we keep Christ’s commandments we will be placed with the good fruit.

Matthew 24:3-5
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
We have to be careful and not follow the teachings of a well spoken man. There are people out there who say they are working for Christ but are only going where the Devil leads them. Just because a message sound nice and the person teaching is nice does not mean it is from the Lord. We have to take everything and compare it to the words of God and all of his teachings. It will be confusing at times, but the Holy Spirit will be there to help.

Message 60:6
But fear not men, nor what they may say of this work, for in their hearts is selfishness and hate. They are carnally minded and cannot see the Lord’s hand move, but seek their own glory and not the glory of the Lord.
It is very difficult to not listen to the people who persecute the followers of Christ, but that is exactly what we are supposed to do. The men in the world who do this evil are not doing the Lords work and they will receive their sad end.

Mark 12:12
And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.
Just like the days of old, there will be a time that people fear the workers of Christ. Now people persecute the ones who are working for Christ. Those people who are persecuting Christ’s workers will get their reward, and it will not be pleasant. Let us be comforted in the fact that Christ will always be with us and will get the last word.
