Message 83:5

The ways of man will not save you. I give the instructions and the authority in its assured way. Those that speak lightly of my words, deny me and the trust and authority—it is taken from them for they lose by their sin. In time they will amount to nothing. Fear them not. They have no right nor authority from my words.

We are on our own to figure out what to believe and who to follow. Christ’s teachings are what we need to follow, but we have to figure out who is teaching them. We cannot follow a person blindly, no matter what they teach, for they are human and will sometimes make mistakes. Only Christ is pure and only through him can we have salvation.

1 Thessalonians 2:4-9

But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness: Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ. But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children: So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us. For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.

When we preach the word of God we must not get in the way. We need to let God’s love and peace shine through us so that the world can see God. We must remain humble and obedient to our master. For if we do our job well, no one will talk about us, but they will talk about Christ.

Message 34:5

Behold, saith the Lord, a great work is to be done, and few there be that behold it. But the children of your God knoweth it, and heareth the will of the Father, for the Church of Christ shall receive her power to make ready her children, the Lamb’s bride, when he comes.

Christ’s church is not going to go away. It will be here for the second coming. There will be members that stay faithful though it all and will be able to witness this great and joyous event. It is our responsibility to prepare the world for it.

Colossians 2:6-9

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

Paul warned us about the philosophy and the traditions of man. Mankind wants to make things more complicated than it really is. Christ is the head of the Church and if we follow him we will be saved. If we start adding in other requirements, or taking away Christ teachings, we will not be with him in the last days. I hope you stay with Christ.
