John 8:12

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Christ makes everything better. No matter where we are or what situation that we are in, if we follow Christ, we will be better off than if we don’t. Each one of us might have difficult times in our lives, but Christ will never leave us and in the end we forever be happy with him.

Message 72:4

I bring glad tidings to the faithful and those that love truth. I speak the truth. I bring light to the blind in the light of time.

John’s message is one for hope and love. He is a direct link from God to us. Let all see the truth that he brings.

3rd Nephi 23 -24

But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If, therefore, the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! No man can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Let us keep an eye on what is important, Christ and his truth. We cannot both be serving the ways of the Lord and the ways of man. We need to choose. Jealousy, envy, and greed are all ways of man that will take you away from Christ. Let us not worry about becoming great in the eyes of man, but let strive to become pleasing in the eyes of God.

Alma 1:27-31

And they did impart of their substance, every man according to that which he had, to the poor, and the needy, and the sick, and the afflicted; and they did not wear costly apparel, yet they were neat and comely. And thus they did establish the affairs of the church; and thus they began to have continual peace again, notwithstanding all their persecutions. And now, because of the steadiness of the church they began to be exceeding rich, having abundance of all things whatsoever they stood in need—an abundance of flocks and herds, and fatlings of every kind, and also abundance of grain, and of gold, and of silver, and of precious things, and abundance of silk and fine-twined linen, and all manner of good homely cloth. And thus, in their prosperous circumstances, they did not send away any which was naked, or that was hungry, or that was athirst, or that was sick, or that had not been nourished; and they did not set their hearts upon riches; therefore they were liberal to all, both old and young, both bond and free, both male and female, whether out of the church or in the church, having no respects to persons as to those who stood in need. And thus they did prosper and become far more wealthy than those who did not belong to their church.

What possessions we have on this earth are given to us by God. He allows us to be successful in our lives to be able to buy the stuff that we own. We need to remember to give it back to God. We can do this by both tithing and by giving to the needy. I know it is hard to give when we don’t have much at times, but it is important to God that we do.

Luke 9:1-3

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.

When we go out teaching to the word of God we are supposed to depend on the people that we see for our survival. We try to stay at the houses of the people, we eat with them and we teach them. This allows God to use us in all manors in spreading his word. It is all a blessing to those that help the workers of God.

John 10:16

And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Many people assume that the Jews were the only people that Christ dealt with. He himself said that he had other sheep that he was going to visit. These people are the Nephites and their story can be found in The Record of the Nephites. These are members of the tribe of Joseph of the House of Israel.

1 John 3:7-8

Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

As we go through our lives, let us be around people that follow God. There are lots of people who say they follow God, who can quote scriptures, but who are full of sin. Let us only be around people who are full of righteous. Christ came to earth to save us from sin, let us not put ourselves in situations to be around it more then we have to.

Message 102:18

Prove all things by the words of truth in the Bible, Record of the Nephites, and The Word of the Lord. All this is established for mankind, the guidelines of hope and deliverance. Man’s idealisms shall come to naught.

All things that we need to know are in the three books the Bible, Record of the Nephites, and The Word of the Lord. We should use these references to learn the true teachings and wishes of Christ. If an idea does not agree with these books, than that idea is not of God. This is important if we want to be counted has one of Christ’s on the last day.

Here are the last three weeks of sermon files. Enjoy.

Matthew 5:17-18

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Before Christ’s coming, the way to receive salvation was though the old law.  Since Christ came and died for us we are no longer bound by the old law, but have a new way of salvation. That salvation is Christ himself. He gave himself for us. Will you listen to his plan?

Matthew 6:19-21

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

God does not want a monetary rich people. He wants us to use our money for the help of those who need it. It is important that we deposit our treasure into our heavenly bank account. We do this by following the words of God and by letting his love shine through us.

Alma 30:34
And now, if we do not receive anything for our labors in the church, what doth it profit us to labor in the church save it were to declare the truth, that we may have rejoicings in the joy of our brethren?
We do not serve the lord for money, but we serve him for the blessings in our lives. For us, we spread the word of God not because we get paid for it, but because we enjoy seeing other receive the blessings of the Lord.

Romans 8:31

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

God will never fail. With that being said if we are with God no one will be able to stand against us. The key to this verse though is to make sure that we are on the same page as God. That is our responsibility.

Message 35-37

There will be those that cannot endure sound doctrine—they lift their hands against this work. They set their face as steel to not let the words I bring to have their way with the people. But keep ye this way sacred and the Lord will give you faithful ones to help in this work. Some you have trusted will walk no more with you, but many more will come. Some will return to this work and faithful ones will awaken to this call and bring forth much fruit.

We cannot change the word of God to suit man. There will be and has been lots of people who have left the church because the church would not change for their ideas. Hopefully these people will come back to God, but most will not. There will however be many more to take their place. Let us keep the standard high and follow the true words of God.

Matthew 15:1-11

Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

We need to remember not to get so caught up in traditions that we forget to keep the message of Christ in our focus. As we worship Christ we need to do it with our whole hearts and just our actions from our habits.

Alma 36:1

My son, give ear to my words; for I swear unto you, that inasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall prosper in the land.

God will bless us if we follow his word. This does not mean that we will become rich or wealthy, but that we will have what we need and not want. When we start falling away from the Lord we start missing out on those blessings. Will you follow the truth and receive the blessings?

2 Peter 1:4-8

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Christ is the only way for us to live a productive life. When I say productive I don’t mean in the ways of the world. I mean in the ways of Christ. Christ wants us to be full of love and humble. He wants us to have his righteousness in us. Will you have things of Christ in you or things of this world?

Message 56:3

Read the messages I have brought from time to time; study them. Moreover, heed the warning that is given, abide by the doctrine of Christ, teach it to all people, be ye united in your work. He that will heed the warning will gain thereby. Those that heed not will lose in the end. Be at peace with all men for the Lord will gather his elect and they shall have peace with him.

We need to keep learning about Christ’s words. No matter how much we study, there is always more that we can learn about living like Christ. Once we have learned about Christ we need to go out and teach it to others. We must teach it in a loving way that shows the love of Christ. Those that are looking will hear and be saved.
