2 Timothy 3:1-7

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

This is very apparent today in our world. There are lots of people who have all kinds of sinful ways about them that talk about loving and serving God. I know that no one is perfect, but we cannot deny the God’s truth. There are those that deny his truth even though they say they follow Christ. We cannot be like that we must not fall into the traps.

Exodus 20:5-6

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

As with the previous two commandments we see that God wants us to keep him and only him on our minds. We should not pray or worship things or ideas that could be considered a God or an image of a God.

As we start day two of the Assembly I wanted to give you a recap of what happened yesterday. If you are around or have free time feel free to click on and listen on your computer. We start at 9:00 AM, 2:00PM, and 7:00PM Central time. The link is www.instantpresenter.com/cocwthem15.

Sunday Morning.

Sacraments. We must prepare ourselves to receive Christ. This means being a member of the Church of Christ and striving to follow Christ.  We also had prayer and testimony.

Sunday Afternoon

Terry Laws

We have to follow God’s commandments. We cannot escape from God. He is everywhere. God wants a people who have had trials and tribulations. The people who are left after these trials are God’s people. These are the people that God wants. His people will follow him always and those who don’t will not be counted as God’s people. The gospel of Christ is to be taken to the world. The gospel is simple. Repent and be baptized. This is the only way to be saved. We must stay on the truth, the word of God. The arm of flesh can and will fail. But the arm of God will not fail. He must do God’s plan and not our own. For if we do our own we will fail in the end. God is and is going to do a great work on this earth with his people. He will guild us through the hard time and be there for us at the end.

Sunday Evening

Norm Lyles

What is our relationship with Christ? We each have to have a walk with Christ, but we are part of the Church family. We need to make sure that by following Christ’s teachings we are still about of the family. Parent’s responsibility is to teach children for what the children learn from the parents is how they shape their lives. We must stay with Christ or risk being separated from God. To start our walk or if you fall away baptism is the only way to wash away our sins and become clean.  We must not change God’s word or plan.

Mosiah 40:11-14

Now, concerning the state of the soul between death and the resurrection—Behold, it hath been made known unto me by an angel, that the spirits of all men, as soon as they are departed from this mortal body, yea, the spirits of all men, whether they be good or evil, are taken home to that God who gave them life. And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of those which are righteous are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles, and from all care, and sorrow, etc. And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of the wicked, yea, which are evil—for behold, they have no part nor portion of the Spirit of the Lord; for behold, they chose evil works rather than good; therefore the spirit of the devil did enter into them, and take possession of their house—and these shall be cast out into outer darkness; there shall be weeping, and wailing, and gnashing of teeth, and this because of their own iniquity, being led captive by the will of the devil.

Now this is the state of the souls of the wicked, yea, in darkness, and a state of awful, fearful looking for of the fiery indignation of the wrath of God upon them; thus they remain in this state, as well as the righteous in paradise, until the time of their resurrection.

Once our time on this earth is over, our fate for eternity is sealed. We cannot change where we spend eternal life after we die. So make the most of the time you have not and find salvation. You only get one life.

Helaman 14:17-19

But behold, the resurrection of Christ redeemeth mankind, yea, even all mankind, and bringeth them back into the presence of the Lord. Yea, and it bringeth to pass the condition of repentance, that whosoever repenteth the same is not hewn down and cast into the fire; but whosoever repenteth not is hewn down and cast into the fire; and there cometh upon them again a spiritual death, yea, a second death, for they are cut off again as to things pertaining to righteousness.  Therefore repent ye, repent ye, lest by knowing these things and not doing them ye shall suffer yourselves.

The simple truth is hard to ignore. Christ’s death and resurrection provided us with a way for salvation. Now it is up to us to act upon it. What are you going to do?

Message 96:14

The work will become very heavy in the office and headquarters records and preparing materials to help those that inquire and come to this work. Let more prepare to help in this, that all things may be kept in order and carried on.

This is true today. The word is spreading very fast about the truth and there is a lot of work to be done. Everyone should be preparing to do their part. Only through Christ are we able to keep the message going out to the world. Are you willing and able to do your part?

Luke 12:15

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

We cannot take possessions with us to heaven. It does us no good to have lots of stuff. That stuff can do nothing for us. It cannot give us happiness, it cannot make us healthy. We must not worry about stuff, but worry about actions.

Blessing to all this most wonderful day. I thank my Lord for His love for us. This is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it. Matt.3:14-16. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wildness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Today was the last day of the Assembly. We started out with a word study lead by Norm Lyles. We covered the falling away of the church and the end times. After lunch Phil Meilhs taught us that the truth is in the word and that we must study it to know it. Edward Coffey taught about the importance of faith in the work of God. We can not do his work without faith. After dinner Larry Gosier talked about how we have all the  information we need and to go out to do the Lords work. After the sermons we finished the day with sacraments.

Please stay tuned in the next few week for the audio files of the Assembly.

Today was another blessed day to serve the Lord.

We started this morning with a word study by Norm Lyles about the false teaching of the rapture. We also covered the tribulation before the second coming of Christ.

This afternoon Noris Purifoy taught about how the church has to be clean. We must use the Bible, the Record of the Nephites, and the Word of the Lord to find the truth. Chris Laws taught the sermon on the mount showing how to be a better person following Christ.

Terry Laws preached about the foundation of Christ’s church and the foundation of his work.

Don’t forget Wed is the last day of the Assembly. Come listen at http://www.instantpresenter.com/cocwtem15

Today was a busy day.  This morning Terry Laws lead a word study on contention and how we should only teach the word of God. If we let God’s word do our talking contention will not arise.

This afternoon William Holden talked about only the true word of God will help us in the end. Darrel Bellamy talked about our actions and how they affect our place in heaven and how we need to do God’s will today and not tomorrow.

Tonight Norm Lyles talked about the how Christ is God and how we should do the father’s will. Come join us tomorrow at 9, 2, and 7.
