Alma 38:1-2

My son, give ear to my words, for I say unto you, even as I said unto Helaman, that inasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall prosper in the land; and inasmuch as ye will not keep the commandments of God ye shall be cast off from his presence. And now, my son, I trust that I shall have great joy in you, because of your steadiness and your faithfulness unto God; for as you have commenced in your youth to look to the Lord your God, even so I hope that you will continue in keeping his commandments; for blessed is he that endureth to the end.

If we follow the commandments of God we will recive his blessings. This does not mean that we will be rich or have lots of possessions, but it means that we will be prosperous. If we fall away from God, we will lose our prosperity and life will become harder to go though.

Message96:4

The Lord has used many in every clime and nation to bring about this great work, preparing the way that all Christendom shall flow together.

There have many people that do not know of this work do great things for the Lord. He will reward these people and they will be blessed. We should be glade that there are people doing the Lords work and when they hear of this message there will only be one Church of Christ.

Mosiah2:22

And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he hath promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you.

All we have to do to receive Christ’s blessings is to follow his commandments. This sounds very simple and can be if you let the love of Christ into your heart. If don’t let Christ in, it become very difficult to not follow the ways of the world and follow God’s commandments.

Helaman 3:24-28

And it came to pass that in this same year there was exceeding great prosperity in the church, insomuch that there were thousands who did join themselves unto the church and were baptized unto repentance. And so great was the prosperity of the church, and so many the blessings which were poured out upon the people, that even the high priests and the teachers were themselves astonished beyond measure. And it came to pass that the work of the Lord did prosper unto the baptizing and uniting to the church of God, many souls, yea, even tens of thousands. Thus we may see that the Lord is merciful unto all who will, in the sincerity of their hearts, call upon his holy name. Yea, thus we see that the gate of heaven is open unto all, even to those who will believe on the name of Jesus Christ, which is the Son of God.

We people believe and follow Christ their lives will be blessed. When a group of people believe and follow Christ the whole community is blessed. What we must remember though is that we have to keep following Christ’s truth and not turn away from it. When we turn away from the truth we risk losing our blessings.

Helaman 11-13

Now this great loss of the Nephites, and the great slaughter which was among them, would not have happened had it not been for their wickedness and their abomination which was among them; yea, and it was among those also which professed to belong to the church of God. And it was because of the pride of their hearts, because of their exceeding riches, yea, it was because of their oppression to the poor, withholding their food from the hungry, withholding their clothing from the naked, and smiting their humble brethren upon the cheek, making a mock of that which was sacred, denying the spirit of prophecy and of revelation, murdering, plundering, lying, stealing, committing adultery, raising up in great contentions, and deserting away into the land of Nephi, among the Lamanites—  And because of this their great wickedness, and their boastings in their own strength, they were left in their own strength; therefore they did not prosper, but were afflicted and smitten, and driven before the Lamanites, until they had lost possession of almost all their lands.

God allows us to reap the fruits of our labor. If we fall away from Christ’s teachings we can expect to fall from him graces. This fall does not happen overnight, but it does come with a heavy price.  Are you going to be like Nephites and fall away from Christ and his blessing or are you going to stay in his graces?

Alma 36:1

My son, give ear to my words; for I swear unto you, that inasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall prosper in the land.

If we are obedient to the Lord we will be blessed. This does not mean that we will be rich, but we will always have what we need. God loves a people who follow his commandments and when this happens he rewards them with prosperity. If we want to get a head, we first need to follow Christ.

Alma 36:1

My son, give ear to my words; for I swear unto you, that inasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall prosper in the land.

God will bless us if we follow his word. This does not mean that we will become rich or wealthy, but that we will have what we need and not want. When we start falling away from the Lord we start missing out on those blessings. Will you follow the truth and receive the blessings?

Hebrews 12:6-8

For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

God never promised that he would make our lives easy. We should be thankful that he put trials in our lives. These trials help us become stronger in our relationship with him and help us grow. Without these trials we would not understand or appreciate the blessing in our lives.

HELAMAN 3:24-30

Yea, we see that whosoever will lay hold upon the word of God, which is quick and powerful, which shall divide asunder all the cunning and the snares and the wiles of the devil, and lead the man of Christ in a strait and narrow course across that everlasting gulf of misery which is prepared to engulf the wicked— And land their souls, yea, their immortal souls, at the right hand of God in the kingdom of heaven, to sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and with Jacob, and with all our holy fathers, to go no more out.

Christ has blessed his church in the past with great blessings and large growth, and he will do it again. Christ is true to his word, if we stay focused on him and walk on the straight and narrow path, we will receive so many blessings that it will be hard to believe. I can’t wait for the to happen again but in our day in age.

Alma 30:34
And now, if we do not receive anything for our labors in the church, what doth it profit us to labor in the church save it were to declare the truth, that we may have rejoicings in the joy of our brethren?
We do not serve to lord for money, but we serve him for the blessings in our lives. For us, we spread the word of God not because we get paid for it, but because we enjoy seeing other receive the blessings of the Lord.
Luke 11:27-28

And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

There is no one more special in the eyes of the Lord then a follower of Christ. The people who follow all of the teachings of Christ are a blessed people who’s lives are full of love and peace. Let us try to be one of those followers.

Romans 8:31-32

“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”

When things get tough, we can take assurance that God is on our side. Nothing in life is to hard for God.  When things are tough on for us, remember God is there to help us. Any thing is possible with the help of God.

Have you ever noticed that it is the small things in our lives that reminds us that God is still in charge? Remember to thank him everyday for the small things.
