John 8:34
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
Don’t be a servant of sin, be a servant of God full of love.

Colossians 3:13-17

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

In everything that we do, we are supposed to have Christ be a part of it. This includes our daily lives and actions. We need to give God the glory with good things happen and ask for help when times are tough. If we do this, then the world cannot deny that we are Christ’s.

1 Timothy 4:1-5

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

Let us not get caught up in the ideas of man. We were warned that there will be people who try to create their own rules about how to follow God. We cannot follow these man made ideas.  If we only follow the words of God we will be able to secure our place in heaven. Will you follow the truth or someone else’s ideas?

2nd Nephi 26: 30-31

Behold, the Lord hath forbidden this thing; wherefore, the Lord God hath given a commandment that all men should have charity, which charity is love. And except they should have charity they were nothing. Wherefore, if they should have charity they would not suffer the laborer in Zion to perish. But the laborer in Zion shall labor for Zion; for if they labor for money they shall perish.

Love is the key to our work for the lord. If we try to serve God for the wrong reasons, it will be for naught. We have to serve God with love and not self interest

Mosiah 26:30-32

“Yea, and as often as my people repent will I forgive them their trespasses against me. And ye shall also forgive one another your trespasses; for verily I say unto you, he that forgiveth not his neighbor’s trespasses when he saith that he repenteth, the same hath brought himself under condemnation. Now I say unto you, Go; and whosoever will not repent of his sins the same shall not be numbered among my people; and this shall be observed from this time forward.”

It is very reassuring to know that God loves us no matter what. No matter what we do or how many times we do it, if we honestly repent and try to change our ways God will forgive us over and over.  However if we don’t repent honestly we will not be allowed into the Kingdom of God. Part of repentance toward God is to forgive the people in our lives.  This includes the people that we know and the people that we don’t.  We need to forgive everyone in our lives and let God judge their actions.

Luke 6:27-35

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

We need to remember that we must love everyone and treat them like God would. We cannot be hateful and rude to someone just because they don’t believe what we do. All people are children of God and must be treated according. This is very difficult but very important.

Message 102:9

Let all that come this way be repentant and very humble, not ridiculing nor boisterous, but filled with love and peace. Let humility be your cloak and mantle.

The actions of people who follow Christ are simple to do, but are so important. We must not let the devil to creep into our lives and allow us to act in ways that God does not want. We must be filled with love and humble before the Lord.

Matthew 22:36-40

Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

We have love God and each other.  If we love him, we will follow his will and love others.  Sometimes it is very hard to love other people, but that is what God tells us to do.  There is more hate in this world right now then ever before, but Love is the way of God. Love can bring people together and keep blessing coming. Let us love everyone, no matter what.

Luke 6:27-29

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

Love is the key to Christ’s teachings. We all are good at loving the people we like, but how are we about loving the people that we don’t like. Christ taught us to love everyone and help them. Everyone is a child of God and we must treat each accordingly.

Matthew 22:36-40

Mosiah2:22

And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he hath promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you.

All we have to do to receive Christ’s blessings is to follow his commandments. This sounds very simple and can be if you let the love of Christ into your heart. If don’t let Christ in, it become very difficult to not follow the ways of the world and follow God’s commandments.

Message 70: 9-10

Let all watch and pray, for the trials will come to all. Mankind must come all the way. The Lord has been and will be with his people by his Spirit, and his peace shall long linger with the faithful until they become the jewels of God.

We will all have our trials and tribulations, but with the help of the Lord we can get through them. If we stay faithful we will become the jewels of the Lord and his peace will flow over us. God never leaves us, but through faithfulness we allow his peace and love to touch us.

1 Peter 4:7-11

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Use hospitality one to another without grudging. As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

We never know when the end might come, so we must act accordingly all the time. This means that we must have the love of Christ in us and we must give it out through our actions. Only the love of Christ will save us and will allow us to make it through this life. We must serve God by loving all of mankind.

Message 94:17

Much good has come from this Assembly of the people of the Lord. I have been with you. Swing wide the gate—go forth, the truth is set before you.

If we come and meet at the assembly with love and humility in our hearts, the Lord will bless us in our lives. We need to take the opportunity after the assembly to use our new found energy and use it for the good of Christ. We need to take the things we learned and go out and tell the world about Christ.

Message 39: 23

Be kind to those that come to learn of truth. Meet in the assembly and cry mightily unto the Lord, for many shall come to learn truth. Be not contentious but let the Lord direct.

As we prepare this week to meet at the General Assembly for 2012 let us pray for blessings from the Lord. We should come with love in our hearts and we should leave filled with joy.

Message 65:2

Verily, the Lord has heard the prayers of the faithful who have cried from the heart; therefore he has and will bless all that do his will. Let all be calm and sedate in the Lord; not boastful nor wise in their own conceit. Remember, love is your mission, to preach and teach repentance with faith in God that salvation may come to all who will hear and obey the word of the Lord.

Love is the most important thing that we show in our lives and work. If we don’t have love, and if it does not show through us cannot be successful in our daily lives or our walk with God. If we have love then we will no problem with humility.

Message 103:29

Let not selfishness nor greed come among you.

We must remember to work together in the work of God’s. We cannot add in our personal wishes to his plan of action. If we start battling between ourselves, the Devil has already won before we even start.

Psalms 37:1-6

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

The Lord is a lot of things. One of which is comforter. He is always there when we need him. We know that in the end he will stand beside us and all of enemies will disappear. Let us relax in this notion, God will never leave us or forsake us. He will always be there.
