Matthew 6:24-34

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Our salvation is the most important thing that we can look for on this earth. Let us not worry about earthly thing and focus on our salvation. If this is our main focus, then the rest will fall into place.

James 1:2-6

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Let us have patience in our lives. It is important to remain strong in Christ. Sometimes it is hard for us to understand what the larger plan is, but we have to have faith and patience in Christ. Christ will not leave us alone and will always give us what we need when we need it.

2 Timothy 2:22-26

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

We need to put the ways of man behind us when we turn to the Lord. We must try to have the qualities that Christ wants us to have. These include but are not limited to gentleness, patience, righteousness, faith, charity, peace and meekness. This must be our main focus, not the ways of the world.

Just a few quick thoughts today. It is amazing how the Lord works in our lives. We pray and pray for something that we need in our lives. Opportunity after opportunity to give us what we want fails to materializes we can start to get frustrated and disenchanted with God. But we have to stay patient and humble before God, because his plan is the right one. If we keep praying and trusting in him, what we need will always come when we need it.  And when he does answer our prayers, it will be better that what we would have planed. God works in powerful ways, lets give him the chance to do it.

Message 47:12

Many will come to worship the Lord and because of those that keep and do his will, he will cause that they shall overcome: they that are patient to keep his words shall be delivered from the hour of temptation. They that overcome shall drink of the water of life freely.

Today we have another verse show us our reward if we stay true to the word of God. Staying true can be very difficult at times, but is worth it. We must patiently wait for the day when this life is going to end, and we get to spend eternity with our God.
