Luke 4:14-21
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Today is the day to listen the word of God. It is not to late to learn the truth. There is only one way to the kingdom of God and that is through the truth of his word. It is up to you to find the truth. It is out there.

Isaiah 7:13-14

And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also? Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

God does not do anything without first telling his people about it. Hear God is telling us about the birth of Jesus. This is just one prophecy about the coming of Christ. This week as we lead up to Christmas day let us look toward Christ for our salvation and celebrate his birth.

Matthew 21:42-44

Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

The Jews rejected Christ as the messiah and savior in the days of old. If you look today, the same thing is happening before the second coming. Christians of the world are holding to their traditions rather than follow the truth that Christ has sent down from heaven by his messenger. Will you reject Christ and his words like the Jews of old?

Matthew 7:15-20

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

When people talk about their words come from God we have to take a hard look at what the words say. There a lots of people in this world that God works with and gives his words to, but there are more that this is not the case. We need to look at the words from these people and then compare them to the world of God that we already have. Only then can we take those words as from God.

Message 64: 5

There are those that seek to prophesy in the Lord’s name, and in vain they do speak their own words for they know not his Spirit nor his power, for God speaketh not to blaspheme. Fear them not.

When someone comes and tells you that they have a prophesy from the Lord, the first thing you have to do it check it against the word of God. If it does match the word of God then it is not from God. Also the spirit will help us decide if it is true or not. All true prophesies from God will have the spirit confirm them within our hearts.

Message 68:6

Conditions have come as I told you. Much sorrow is yet to come, suffering and sadness on every hand. Only among the more righteous shall peace be found.

Things will get worse before they get better. If you read the scriptures, you will find that the events leading up the second coming of Christ are not going to be pleasant. But if we make them through it, life will be grand. Let us keep the faith and we will be rewarded.

Message 74:4

False prophets will arise. False proclaims will be made. Evil will grow worse and worse among the ungodly. Hearts will be sad until few will have faith in the gospel of Christ. Mockery shall be among men, but the truth shall go on to its mission.

There is only on truth. There are many out there that say they have received messages from God. If the message does not 100% agree with what we already have, it is wrong. No questions asked. Only God words can be used as a yard stick and they always must agree. So next time you hear that someone has received something from God, compare it to what we already have. If it matches that is great, if not you need to leave it at the door.

Matthew 24:4-13

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

In the verses above Christ start painting a dim picture of what will happen before his return. We can start to see this in today’s world, but it all has not happened yet. Things will get much worse before Christ returns. I am not trying to negative but realistic. We have to prepare our hearts and our lives for we know not what will happen to us. The last verse is one of most importance. We have to endure to the end. Either the end of our lives or the end of life on earth as we know it.

Isaiah 7:13-14

Malachi 3:1-3

Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fullers’ soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

Before the second coming of Christ, God promises us that he will send a messenger to prepare the way before him. We know this is before the second coming because it says that the Lord will come to his temple. When Christ came the first time he did not suddenly at his temple. It also states that the messenger will purify the house of Levi, the ministry. Since  Christ started the ministry, there was nothing to purify back then. This means that this must happen before the second coming of  Christ. This messenger is coming now to prepare the way. His name is the John the Baptist and he is fulfilling this prophesy.
