Ezekiel 37:15-20

“The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying, Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions: And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand. And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these? Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand. And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.”

The Nephite people were of the house of Joseph. As like most people of the day, they recorded their history on scrolls and plates. When you take the scroll of Joseph (The Record of the Nephites) and the scroll of Judah (The Bible), they show the clear and true gospel of Christ. The two books don’t conflict each other, they enhance each other.

John 10:16

“And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd”

We know that the Jews are just one of the twelve tribes of Israel. Some people say that the bible, which records the history of the Jews, is the only record of God’s teachings. But why, if the Jews kept a record of Christ, would it also not make since for the other tribes to do the same? Christ himself also talks about this. Christ said that he was going to visit other people. These people also kept a record of their history and the teachings of God. The Record of the Nephites is this record.

1st Nephi 1:1-3

I, Nephi, having been born of goodly parents, therefore I was taught somewhat in all the learning of my father; and having seen many afflictions in the course of my days, nevertheless, having been highly favored of the Lord in all my days; yea, having had a great knowledge of the goodness and the mysteries of God, therefore I make a record of my proceedings in my days. Yea, I make a record in the language of my father, which consists of the learning of the Jews and the language of the Egyptians. And I know that the record which I make to be true; and I make it with mine own hand; and I make it according to my knowledge.

The Record of the Nephites starts out explaining what it is. It is a record of a people who follow god. The Jews were not the only ones that have a relationship with the Lord back then or today. Will you read the record and believe in its truth?

Ezekiel 37:15-20

The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying, Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions: And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand. And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.

The Lord told us that there was going to be a record of the tribe of Joseph and the tribe of Judah. The references to sticks are to books or records of that people since things were written on scrolls at the time. The record for the tribe of Judah is what we call the Bible. It covers the history of the Jews and Christ’s coming that people.  The history of the tribe of Joseph is recorded in The Record of the Nephites.  In this history the Gospel of Christ is also taught just like in the Bible, but is clearer language.  Christ came for all mankind, just not the Israel.

John 10:16

And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Many people assume that the Jews were the only people that Christ dealt with. He himself said that he had other sheep that he was going to visit. These people are the Nephites and their story can be found in The Record of the Nephites. These are members of the tripe of Joseph of the House of Israel.  There will be more about this in the next few days.

Ezekiel 37:15-20

The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying, Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and for all the house of Israel his companions:  And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand. And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes

When people ask why we believe the Record of the Nephites is from God, we can say because God told us so. The Lord talks about the stick of Judea and the stick of Joseph. The stick of Judea is the bible, written on scrolls or a stick. The stick of Joseph is the Record of the Nephites. With the two books together the full understanding of Christ’s teaches can be understood. If you read both books, you will know and understand that they are both of God. They both teach the same principals. You can read the Record of the Nephites here or if you want a paper copy you can contact us at contact@elijahmessage.net.

John 10:16

And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice: and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd

Christ told us that there are other people that he was going to visit. It would make sense that these people would also keep a record of their experiences and communications with Christ just like the Jews did. We have to remember that the Jews are just one of the twelve tribes of Israel. We have a record that talks about this very thing. It is called The Record of the Nephites. It is from the house of Joseph. You can read the Record of the Nephites here or if you want a paper copy you can contact us at contact@elijahmessage.net.

Article 9.

We believe that in the Bible is contained the word of God; that The Record of the Nephites is an added witness for Christ, and that these contain the fullness of the gospel.

The Bible is a record of the Jews, but there are more people that are part of the House of Israel. The Record of the Nephites is a recorded of the house of Joseph. The Record of the Nephites was translated though the power or God. This allows it to have more accurate information that complements the Bible. Both the Bible and the Record of the Nephites are the word of God.
